Design Brief

Design Brief

For this project, I designed a set of sculptural flatware—a fork, knife, and spoon—based on a unified aesthetic theme. Inspired by natural forms, the design takes cues from elements like flowing curves, organic shapes, or branching patterns. The goal was to create elegant, functional utensils that feel refined and visually connected without directly copying the source of inspiration. Most of the modeling was done in Rhino to achieve smooth, sculpted surfaces, with some parts refined in SolidWorks as needed. The final set balances beauty, usability, and a strong design identity.

Ideation

SharkFin draws its inspiration primarily from the great white shark, seamlessly blending modern design with refined elegance rooted in culinary tradition. Each piece captures the essence of the shark’s form, merging key elements of its powerful silhouette with practical functionality.

With meticulous attention to detail, SharkFin pays homage to the sleek grace of the great white, while embracing contemporary aesthetics. Discreet yet distinctive, SharkFin elevates everyday dining, offering a sophisticated touch to the casual dining experience.

With a sleek, elegant design inspired by the form of a great white shark with a modern twist, SharkFin flatware perfectly blends functionality and style. This set is crafted for everyday use, designed to elevate every dining experience.
